The next day I had crickets in both rooms and a cockroach with babies in my sons' room closet, the 3rd night we had a fist size spider in the restroom. Both room had bugs, a ton, some mosquitos or fruit flies which I found "normal" since we are next to the jungle, I reported this and they promised they would spray both rooms daily to avoid any other bug. We could not get connected rooms but we understood that would be hard, they did give us neighbor rooms and that was quite helpful, but then some issues came up. Went for a week with the family to the Heaven resort, 2 rooms, one for my sons (all 18+) and another one for the wife and I. Except for El Toro steakhouse which is a must for anyone coming here. The restaurants at the heaven section do not allow children under 18. The cafe in the main lobby has good not excellent espresso and a very good selection of pastries every morning and also features italian gelato that was actually very well prepared and featured many unique flavours. Cardless room entry via rf bracelets is also appreciated. Wood burning oven pizzeria on the beach was a special treat! No reservations needed at any of the restaurants is also something more AI's should adopt. 24 hr room service and turn down service in evening is a nice touch. Food quality, housekeeping, staff and overall cleanliness at this resort is exceptional and should be praised as everyone goes that extra step to ensure your stay is excellent. The swimming area is shallow and clean as it is a protected cove created by a rock barrier breakwater.
The bali huts were run down and not worth the extra charge. We only stay at the beach and must say that the beach service was excellent. When booking try to book in building 8 as it is the closest to the main building where all the restaurants and shops are located as well as providing easy access to pools and beach. The resort has an adult section called heaven and a family section called hacienda. Except for El Toro steakhouse which is a must.
